Position: Community Outreach Coordinator

The Armenian National Committee of America Glendale Chapter Board is seeking applicants for its Community Outreach Coordinator position, who will be responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships through community outreach activities, facilitating relationships with local government and community based organization, and serving as a liaison between the organization and city institutions.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with ANCA Glendale board to develop and implement comprehensive and innovative community outreach programs with local government, school and college boards and other local organizations.
  • Serve as main office administrator.
  • Plan and facilitate board meetings, community forums, fundraisers, internship program, annual award gala and other programs.
  • Coordinate all aspects of an event including – planning, logistics, correspondence, financial reports and printed materials.
  • Manage calendar, schedule meetings and appointments for entire board.
  • Coordinate external communications including mass e-emails and electronic newsletters.
  • Draft press releases, official statements, letters and invitations.
  • Maintain website and promote the organization’s activities on all social media platforms.
  • Serve as ambassador of organization at local events, functions and meetings.
  • Solicit donations and sponsorships from new and continuing partners.
  • Speak on behalf of board at City Council, College, School Board and commission meetings.
  • Prepare program evaluations, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Maintain and expand ANCA Glendale database.

Position Qualifications and Knowledge

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, sociology, communications or relevant field
  • At least 1 year of administrative experience
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Fluency in Armenian is preferred
  • Marketing experience is highly desirable

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding and familiarity with ANCA history, mission and policy objectives.
  • Ability to work through stringent deadlines with acute attention to detail. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks. 
  • Knowledge of local government structures and major policy issue in  Glendale. 
  • Excellent public speaking skills. 
  • Knowledge of using mass email servers such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel. 
  • Experience in event organization and management. 
  • Ability to supervise and train interns and volunteers. 
  • Experience in graphic design. 
  • A high degree of integrity in dealing with confidential matters.
