Members will be selected from a cross section of the District community. All potential members of the Task Force must have participated in foundational training in Restorative Practices. City Council Approves Ordinance Addressing Glendale’s Growing Housing Shortage

Glendale, CA – On February 12, 2019, the Glendale City Council approved amendments to the Just Cause Eviction ordinance to address the growing shortage of and increasing demand for rental housing in the city of Glendale, Glendale City Department of Communications and Community Relations released a statement on February 14, 2019. According to the press release, the amendments take effect on March 14, 2019 and entitle tenants who meet certain requirements the right to a one-year written lease agreement option and relocation benefits. Among the many requirements of the ordinance: Landlords must offer tenants a written one-year lease on an annual basis where rental rates are set in the agreement and may only be increased once a year. Silvio Lanzas Appointed as Glendale Fire Chief

Glendale, CA – On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, the Glendale City Council confirmed the appointment of Silvio Lanzas to Fire Chief of the Glendale Fire Department. Chief Lanzas has been serving the Glendale community since December 2017 when he joined the department as its Deputy Fire Chief, Communications and Community Relations of the City of Glendale reported yesterday.
